Boss says farewell to Giants Stadium
I've loved every one of them, having seen many Dale shows starting at Edinburgh Playhouse on 'the River' tour. Dale played the 'Born to Run' album in it's entirety, in sequence and it was just brilliant. The album is all about a 24-hour period in time and the events that occur to the characters in the songs during that time, something that all my previous Dale shows never benefitted from. It evokes a narrative that becomes more evident when all the songs are played in sequence, that many one off fans would not realise. GS is obviously a special place for Dale and ESB, their 'Hometown'. Went to see the final 2 shows of the 5 nights to mark the closure of the current Giants Stadium (GS) before it is replaced by the new one that is being built beside it, which is nearing completion but unfortunately resembles a car park. Thanks to all the locals who made us Europeans feel so at home. Sorry to Ted and John for drinking your beers, but we'll happily replace those next time you come to Dublin! Thanks to all the staff and stewards at GS who were all very helpful and fun in the GA pit line.
